B vitamins are a group of water-soluble vitamins each of which plays a role in cell metabolism. The group of vitamins B consists of a total of 8 water-soluble vitamins, and the vitamin B group includes all essential, water-soluble vitamins – except vitamin C.
B vitamins are well absorbed from the small intestine and distributed from here where they are easily assimilated in the body.. Due to their role as co enzymes in the organism’s metabolism, the B vitamins are present in all body tissues.
Make sure to use all the B vitamins
Because the B-vitamins are water soluble, they are with few exceptions virtually non-toxic – even in large doses – as any possibly excess of these water-soluble vitamins do not accumulate in the body but are rapidly excreted via urine. It is always recommended to take the entire B-vitamin complex, as a whole because they work in synergy with each other. This is probably also the reason why the B vitamins naturally often occur together in foods containing B vitamins.
Nordic Nutraceuticals’ focus is on optimising the body’s bio availability of nutrients in our products, because of this we predominantly use activated B-vitamins in our product OmniVegan® B-Active.
“Active” in the name OmniVegan® B-Active is merely a reflection of the fact, that the product is largely based on activated B-vitamins. The activated forms used are Riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), Vitamin B6, Folic acid (B9) and vitamin B12.
By using primarily the activated forms of B vitamins we ensure an effective bio availability of these nutrients in the body. For example, in the case of vitamin B12, the most commonly used form, Cyanocobalamin, is converted in the liver to Methylcobalamin before it can be absorbed. In OmniVegan® B-Active we use Methylcobalamin thus ensuring an optimum readily absorbable form, which does not require conversion in order to be ingested. As a source of folic acid, we for the same reasons also supply the activated form, called methyl-folate. Omnimin also includes the activated forms of niacin and pantothenic acid.
Choline and Inositol
OmniVegan® B-Active also contains the essential nutrients Choline and Inositol, both often grouped with the B vitamins. Choline and Inositol are located mainly as part of the structure of the so-called phospholipids throughout the body, which are complexes of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Phospholipids are important building blocks of cell membranes and are thus essential for cell function in all body tissues and organs.
With phospholipid blend for efficient bioavailability
OmniVegan® B-Active contains a proprietary phospholipid blend. Phospholipids are important components of the body’s cell membranes, and they contribute to the efficient bioavailability the nutrients in OmniVegan® B-Active.
Also for vegetarians and vegans
