OmniVegan® Vital Adapt has recently been optimized, and the new product contains now Astragalus extract instead of Panax ginseng. OmniVegan® Vital Adapt is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most comprehensive adgaptogenic preparations available today.
OmniVegan® Vital Adapt contains powerful botanical extracts
In OmniVegan® Vital Adapt we exclusively use – as is the case in all herbal preparations from Nordic Nutraceuticals – dry extracts. These are produced by a gentle process of carefully extracting the active ingredients of the herbs in a fluid (either water or water / alcohol).
In order to concentrate the active substances – and thus increase the effectiveness of the extract – the liquid is removed subsequently by gentle evaporation under vacuum.
The result is a dry extract with a much higher concentration of active ingredients than the same volume of dried herb.
The botanical extracts are standardized on active marker substances. This ensures that the sufficiently potent doses required for efficacy are obtained. Finally the scientific evidence on each herbal substance is taken into consideration.
The potency of Nordic Nutraceuticals’ herbal preparations is completely in accordance with the dosages recommended within the modern research.
Adaptogens – depending on the body’s current needs
Adaptogens are defined in literature as natural substances that have a normalising and balancing effect on the body’s functions. At the same time without interfering when the same bodily functions are working normally. Adaptogens are something of a paradox, because their regulating effect means that they can both stimulate and inhibit the same functions within the body. This is all depending on the body’s current needs. Therefore, an intake of adaptogens results in increased energy, well-being, endurance and resilience in everyday life.
Adaptogenic herbs have no side effects nor are they addictive, because they just adapt to the body’s current needs. They support the immune system and the adrenal glands – that produce our stress hormones – by which they have a calming effect in addition to the energy-promoting effect. Adaptogens act quickly and effectively.
Adaptogens are best ingested early in the day with a meal, because their energy promoting effect thereby are obtained during the waking hours of the day,it is also important that you also get a healthy and deep sleep, which in itself also contributes to an increased energy energy level during the day.

OmniVital® contains a powerful combination of 4 effective adaptogens.
Siberian ginseng – Eleutherococcus senticosus
One of the effective adaptogens in OmniVital® is Eleutherococcus senticosus, also known as Siberian ginseng. The Eleutherococcus extract used in OmniVital® has a high, standardized content of active ingredients – eleutherosides – thus ensuring a good effect.
Siberian ginseng grows in the wild as a shrub up to 5 m high and erect stems covered by tight, elongated, pointed and bent backwards small thorns. The leaves are hand shaped, with oval leaflets covered with prickles. Carries black, egg-shaped fruits. Grows in mountainous areas on the edge of fields and in sparsely vegetated forests.
Eleutherococcus is a very effective adaptogen and there is a very extensive clinical research material behind the plant’s many applications, and was first described in the scientific literature in 1960, particularly from Russia, where it is widely used by people in much the same way as ginseng.
Eleutherococcus contributes through its effective adaptogenic and immune stimulating effect to:
- A normal functioning immune system
- A normal mental and physical performance
- A normalizing effect on blood glucose levels
OmniVital® contains an impressive 1000 mg of Siberian ginseng per daily dose.
The second of the strong adaptogens found in OmniVital® is Astragalus. In many respects it have the same indications and effects as its better known cousin, Panax ginseng, but with the advantage that the Astragalus is often better tolerated by people who are sensitive to the effects of adaptogens.
Astragalus is both the common name for one of the most widely used herbs in Chinese medicine, as well as the name of the group of plants to which Astragalus belongs.
Astragalus membranaceus is known in China as “huang-qi,” which means “yellow leader”. The name “Huang” refers to the yellow interior of the root and “Qi” meaning “leader”, referring to this herb as one of the superior “tonics” used in Chinese medicine.
Most of the nearly 2000 species of Astragalus occur in the northern temperated zones. In Europe there are 133 species of Astragalus, and in North America there are 368 Astragalus species, mostly confined to the western United States and Canada.
In 1925, Astragalus membranaceus plant was introduced to North America through the USDA Plant Introduction Office, sent there as a gift from the Botanical Garden in St. Petersburg.
Astragalus in traditional Chinese medicine
In traditional Chinese medicine Astragalus has been used to “revitalize the vital energy (qi or ch’i) and strengthening the body’s resistance.” Astragalus is recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
Within western herbal medicine Astragalus is most often used as an energizing tonic, and is today well recognized and widely used as an immune-enhancing tonic.
Astragalus because of its effectiveness, contributes to:
- A normal functioning immune system
- Has a normalising effect on the blood pressure as well as normal heartbeat
- Has a normalising effect on renal function
OmniVital® contains an impressive 2000 mg of Astragalus per daily dose.
Schisandra – Schisandra chinensis
The next powerful adaptogen, which is found in OmniVital® is Schisandra chinensis. The Schisandra extract used in OmniVital®, has a high, standardized content of the active ingredients – schisandrines – ensuring a good effect.
Schisandra is a perennial, woody climbing plant with deep green, serrated leaves and cream-coloured flowers. One plant produces either male or female flowers. Plants of both sexes must grow near each other in order for them to bear fruit. The fruit is bright red, juicy and oily. Schisandra chinensis prefers moist, nutrient-rich forest soil and thrive in cold regions.
Schisandra chinensis is one of the most powerful adaptogens that exist, and besides its adaptogenic effects, Schisandra is also highly valued in herbal medicine as a stimulating and liver healing tonic.
Schisandra chinensis because of its effectiveness, contributes to:
- Normal function of the upper respiratory tract, particularly important during winter
- Provides protection against oxidative stress
- Increased general well-being
OmniVital® contains an impressive 500 mg of Schisandra chinensis per daily dose.
Rhodiola Rosea – Rhodiola rosea
The 4th Strong adaptogen found in OmniVital® is Arctic root – Rhodiola rosea. The Rhodiola extract used in OmniVital®, has a high, standardised content of active ingredients – rosavins and salidrosides – ensuring a good effect.
Arctic root occurs naturally – as the only adaptogen – in our own latitudes, and Arctic root was already known and appreciated in the Viking Age.
Arctic root grows among others in the Scandinavian mountains, and in the Arctic parts of Europe and Asia. It prefers to grow in sandy soil with many stones and rocks. It is a plant with a thick rhizome, which reaches a height of about 70 cm and has long stems with fleshy green, sometimes reddish tarnished leaves. It bears greenish yellow flowers with no fragrance. In the Arctic regions the plant acts as an important nutrient for Eskimos who eat the raw oil and the Saami population, who use it as a salad.
The Nordic Arctic root is one of the most powerful adaptogens that exist, and besides its adaptogenic effects, Arctic root is very well described and well-regarded in particular within Nordic scientific works for its diverse mechanisms of action.
Arctic root because of its effectiveness, contributes to:
- For normal cognitive function and mental performance
- For an improved cardiovascular system
- For normal functioning of the nervous system
- For a normal functioning of the digestive system
OmniVital® contains 300 mg of Arctic root per daily dose.
